IP69K refers to scales that are approved for applications where high pressure and high temperature washdown is used to sanitize the equipment. In order to be approved as an IP69K rated scale, an extensive test is performed on the unit. It must be able to withstand a spray nozzle that is fed with 80 °C water at 80–100 bar (~1160-1450) and a flow rate of 14–16 L/min. The nozzle is held at 10 to 15 cm from the tested device at multiple angles for 30 seconds each. For more information check out our blog on IP Ratings Explained.
